Recently, many popular restaurants have introduced new drinks to their menus. Spring is the perfect time to launch new drinks; warmer weather and longer days naturally draw people to fun, refreshing beverages. People are ready to leave winter behind as their anticipation for summer grows, making spring feel especially exciting.
Seasonal drinks not only quench thirst but also tap into the playful, vibrant energy of spring, making them a fun way for restaurants to connect with their customers looking for something fresh and new.
Starbucks
One of the most highly anticipated releases was the relaunch of Starbucks’s lavender powder. Starbucks originally introduced it in 2024 but it returned for the 2025 spring menu, which delighted many customers.
This spring Starbucks also launched a new cherry powder, which has gone viral all over social media platforms, especially on TikTok. Both the cherry and lavender powders are used to alter or create new beverages for customers to try.
Some of these new drinks include: Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha, Iced Cherry Chai Latte, and the Strawberry Acai Refresher with options of lavender or cherry powder added.
Sarah Molinero, junior, “I tried my friend’s strawberry acai refresher with cherry powder the other day. It was surprisingly good, and I might get one for myself soon.”
Chick-fil-A
On March 17, Chick-fil-A introduced a new tropical drink lineup. Their four new drinks are: Pineapple Dragonfruit Lemonade, Pineapple Dragonfruit Iced Tea, Pineapple Dragon Fruit Sunjoy, and Pineapple Dragonfruit Frosted Lemonade. Diet and customizable versions are available.
Chick-fil-A has announced these seasonal drinks are expected to be available until June 7, 2025.
Dunkin’
Dunkin’ has recently expanded its energy drink selection with the addition of the new Arctic Cherry Energy Drink. Released on April 2, the new flavor offers a caffeinated cherry flavor with hints of blueberry and grapefruit as a new exciting option to the menu. The drink can be a fun new replacement for an energy drink or even coffee.
Wendy’s
Wendy’s is set to release a new “dessert beverage” option of Frosty Swirls available on the Wendy’s app on April 11, and in restaurants on April 15. The Frosty Swirls are designed to allow customers to add strawberry, caramel, or brownie batter sauces to their chocolate or vanilla-based Frosty.
Following this, Frosty Fusions are expected to launch on May 12, which combines the frosty base with the previously released sauces and new mix-ins. The flavors announced so far are Caramel Crunch, Oreo Brownie, and Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion.
McDonald’s
On April 8, McDonald’s updated their lemonade, calling it their new “premium lemonade.” The drink claims to offer a more natural and refreshing taste compared to the previous version.
As excitement around these spring drinks continues to grow, it’s clear season beverages are becoming a large part in how restaurants connect with their customers. With summer around the corner, we can expect even more innovative and refreshing drink releases in the upcoming months.
