NoRa cafe in Raleigh NC

On a rainy Monday in Raleigh, NoRa cafe is bustling with handfuls of orders, and people are happy to be there. North Raleigh cafe, or NoRa, is a small business coffee shop only a mile and a half away from Leesville.

I spent over 4 hours at NoRa that afternoon in early May. NoRa’s quiet and cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect palace for studying, grabbing a cup of coffee, and more.

It is clear that NoRa is a beloved place in our community. On this particular day, it was filled with people catching up with each other, some doing work, and many people who came in for their regular cup of coffee.

Several of those who come in are known by name by the baristas, with their regular coffee orders memorized and friendly conversations about what’s new. The space creates such a comforting environment, where you are known and always welcome, a nice change of pace from the busy style of Raleigh living.

NoRa cafe, located on Strickland Road, has just recently expanded. They combined spaces with the bookstore previously next door. The combination of the spaces took several months to complete, but now, the library at NoRa is a space filled with books and tables, where people often gather to study.

On any given day, you will find people filling NoRa with laughter and hard work in a welcoming atmosphere. The inviting cafe atmosphere makes NoRa a key part of North Raleigh and the Leesville community.
