For many years, jewelry has been a symbol of wealth, culture, and self expression. However, for a society who values minimalism, many people wonder, is jewelry even important anymore?
For most people, the answer is yes. Jewelry is a great way to express style. Whether it’s dainty gold necklaces or chunky silver rings, jewelry gives others a greater insight into someone’s personality or style.
Some students say they feel bare without their jewelry, emphasizing how important it is to them. Forgetting to put on a necklace or watch in the morning leaves students feeling incomplete.
Zimeer Holder, sophomore, said, “If I ever left the house without my earrings, I would be so mad because I just don’t feel like myself without them.”
To some, jewelry is a part of their outfit. Without jewelry, an outfit may feel basic or not put together. Jewelry can complete outfits while adding a level of sophistication, or just to showcase their unique personality.
Ally Schuh, sophomore, said, “I like to match my Kendra Scott necklace with each outfit I wear. I think it adds a nice touch and makes me look more sophisticated.”
Jewelry plays an important role in how students look and also in how others see them. There are so many ways students can express themselves through their jewelry.
