The benefits of lrhs’s Senior exam policy

Seniors at Leesville Road high school are again exempt from final exams this year. This policy, while not new, is a great one that provides relief for students who have stayed committed and dedicated to their education and attendance throughout the year.

This exemption is aimed at rewarding academic excellence and consistent attendance.

The requirements for the exemptions is that seniors must maintain at least a B average in all of their classes (80% or higher) and have no more than 10 absences during the course of the semester.

While this is a great thing for most seniors, for some it is a setback due to the “tight” requirements for exam exemptions. Although, for most seniors this acts as a motivating factor to not get “senioritis” and continue persisting in their courses.

This exemption allows seniors a full week off of school during the exam week to take a break for being hardworking students during the semester. During this time, seniors are encouraged to prepare more for life after high school, whether that is college, trade school, or pursuing other opportunities.

However, there is one exception to exams — Career and Technical Education

exams. Everyone taking a CTE course must take the final exam or CTE exam for that course regardless of your grade and class.

Overall, the exam exemption policy reflects Leesville continued dedication to its seniors, reinforcing their commitment to students’ wellbeing and happiness.
