Maddie Victor,  junior at Leesville Road High School, owns a jewelry business called Maddie’s Jewelry. Her Instagram is @maddies_jewelry_.

Victor started the business in August of 2024, and has made several kinds of jewelry since then, including bracelets, earrings, rings, and necklaces. 

She has created several collections, including seasonal, gemstone, and college sports team themed pieces. Most recently, she made several items available for the holiday season. 

“I have a couple different bracelets and earrings in my holiday collection right now. Most of the jewelry resembles parts of a Christmas tree, like ornaments, garlands, and the star on top,” said Victor.

Victor even does custom orders, allowing customers to choose what designs to have on their jewelry.

Sarah Dood, senior, ordered a custom bracelet with her name on it from Victor’s business. “I like that [the jewelry] is very good quality and comes at good prices. [Victor] really cares about her customers and makes sure they get the best value,” said Dood.

Victor has been making jewelry for family and friends for a long time, so she has a lot of experience in the area. 

“I have liked crafting and making jewelry as gifts ever since I was little… I enjoy making jewelry and thought I could turn my hobby into something that’s profitable,” said Victor.

Expanding her business comes with challenges and new learning curves. Victor is involved in several extracurriculars outside of her business, including Leesville’s band and track team.

“I think the hardest part of making jewelry is how much time it takes. Especially my flower bracelets, which can usually take an hour to make one,” said Victor.

Aoife Ryan, junior, has also purchased from Victor. “[Victor] has a lot of other things going on too and is still working very hard to grow her business and get to a wider audience,” said Ryan.

Victor puts a lot of thought and effort into what she creates. Her products are full of quality and originality.

“She seems to take inspiration from anything and everything,” said Ryan.
