Haliey Welch is a revolutionary icon who changed the world with her simple, but expressive, phrase “Hawk Tuah, spit on that thang.”
Welch’s skyrocket to fame has led her to move from her hometown, Nashville, Tennessee to Los Angeles, California. On a night out, Welch was destined to make it on TikTok with her infamous phrase, “Hawk tuah spit on that thing,” in response to a question in an interview posted by Tim & Dee TV.
When the video reached its target audience, viewers were fascinated with finding out who she was and what her backstory was. She is known as “hawk tuah girl”, but this determination to discover more from fans all around helped create Talk Tuah.
We talked to the creator of the Talk Tuah Discord fan page, Graham Banks, junior, who said, “It’s the best podcast I’ve ever listened to, someday I hope Haliey makes a TV show.”
Welch’s fame has even reached the shelves with miscellaneous merchandise for fans to purchase. From costumes at Spirit Halloween to various shirts and memorabilia at numerous sites and stores.
A shrine devoted to Haliey Welch and her extremely successful career has recently been discovered in a student’s gym locker. The locker was identified as Thomas Hamilton’s junior, and when questioned about the topic, he said, “No comment.”
The obsession has unfortunately reached classrooms at Leesville with multiple counts of students listening to the podcast out loud during instruction time, disrupting their peers’ learning.
Taft Brock, senior, often engages in listening. “I love streaming Talk Tuah in my car during lunch every day. Instead of going to Bojangles or anything, I put in my airpods, grab my Lunchly, and dig in.”
