The week of homecoming is filled with many exciting events that no one wants to miss out on. Here’s everything you need to know for this fun and eventful week.
This year the Homecoming theme is “Lonniewood”– a mix between the Leesville Loonies and Hollywood.
Spirit week kicks off on Monday, September 30th with La La Land. Students are encouraged to dress in comfy clothes.
After school on Tuesday, the annual powderpuff game will be held on the football thing. Students are encouraged to show support for their grades by dressing in the colors associated with their grades. Freshmen are representing the Gryffindor house and are asked to dress in red. Sophomores, representing the Slytherin house, are encouraged to wear green. Juniors will be representing the Ravenclaw house by wearing blue, and seniors will represent the Gryffindor house dressed in red.
There were many debates on deciding the theme for Wednesday’s spirit day, but ultimately, High School Musical Day won. Students should wear a team’s jersey to show their support in Spirit Week. Along with the spirit day, in advisory, students will create designs on their advisory teacher’s doors based on our lonniewood theme.
Friday is Game day, the Leesville Pride football team will take on Sanderson at 7:00 PM at the Marshall Hamilton stadium. To fit the movie theme, Green Out is described as Get Out of My Swamp Shrek Day. Students are encouraged to wear all green and come out to support the Leesville pride at their home game.
After the homecoming game, there will be a dance with the Looniewood theme. Tickets for the dance are eight dollars, and can be bought on GoFan. To attend, all students must complete this Google form. If students plan to bring a guest who does not attend Leesville, they must fill out the Guest Permission Form and submit a form of ID.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in Spirit Week and attend events such as Powder Puff, the Green Out homecoming game, and the homecoming dance.
