Multitalented pop artist Conan Gray is currently touring North America to promote his newest album Found Heaven with opener Maisie Peters until October 26, 2024, where the last show of the North American leg of the tour will take place in Fort Worth, Texas.
Found Heaven is Gray’s third studio album with a 13-song tracklist which was released on April 5, 2024. The album includes popular singles such as Never Ending Song, Lonely Dancers, and Alley Rose. This album has a very different feel than his past two albums Kid Krow (2020) and Superache (2022) which both have more of an indie-pop vibe.
In an interview with Billboard News, Gray explained that Found Heaven was heavily influenced by ‘80s pop and synth music and artists from that time. “I do think I kind of went into this album being like I’m gonna change some things just for the sake of like just trying something new,” said Gray.
Gray kicked off the North American leg of Found Heaven On Tour with British pop artist Maisie Peters on 9/19/24 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Peters performed songs from both her albums You Signed Up For This (2021) and The Good Witch (2023). Some of these songs include John Hughes Movie, History of Man, and Lost The Breakup.
Both artists performed this past Thursday 10/3/24 at the Red Hat Amphitheater, a music venue located in Raleigh, North Carolina. With thousands of people in attendance, the concert ended up being a huge success with many people in line to buy merchandise after the concert.
“[The concert] was so exciting and fun… I have been listening to him for a while so I just really enjoyed the experience. It was really fun… worth every penny,” said Lia Whitbeck, senior. Whitbeck attended the concert with her family. “I liked knowing all the songs and I liked his energy,” said Whitbeck.
“The Conan Gray concert was a great experience and it was very exciting and had some great visual effects,” said Blase Harriss, senior. Harriss attended the concert with his sister who’s a fan of Gray’s music. Harriss admitted that he’s not the biggest fan of Conan Gray’s music, but he really liked all of the songs he heard.
Gray performed a total of 21 songs from his 3 albums, plus an unreleased song which is set for release a few weeks. Some of his most popular songs that he performed include Heather, Memories, Maniac, Lonely Dancers, and People Watching among others.
Brooke Force, junior, attended the concert and said the experience was a lot of fun. “When [Conan] came out it was so fun, the crowd got so hype… he played a lot of his most popular songs,” said Force.
“It was really such a lively experience and the energy was just really good,” said Nina Whittington, sophomore. “[I enjoyed] how interactive the [performers] were… I felt like I was right next to them.”. Whittington has been a fan of Gray’s music since about 2021.
Later that night after the concert, Maisie Peters took to her instagram account @maisiehpeters to make an appreciation post of sorts for the fans that attended the concert saying, “a raleigh iconic show on the found heaven tour.” Conan Gray also took to his instagram account @conangray and posted a video of him simply being himself and running around Raleigh saying “thank you north carolina ❤.”
Overall, the concert was a huge success for everyone involved, both performers and fans alike. Many fans took pictures and videos during the concert to remember the fun time they had. Some fans even collected confetti that was left on the ground after the finale.
