Principal Jacobs decided to surprise Leesville with all sorts of new classroom improvements and Pride themed decorations to energize students for their next year of high school!
All the downstairs hallways were given a much needed coat of paint which brightens up the hallway with Leesville colors. The arts hallway even received some wall art to show off the school’s arts programs. Additionally, if a student is lost they can use our new Pride themed navigation signs to find their classes.
Jacob Merrit, senior, said, “These decorations add a little bit of spice to some of our blander sections”. Though Merrit was worried about the one way posters on the doors because he “almost got hit in the face” while he was waiting for someone to open the door.
Ramir Connor, sophomore, had similar praises of Leesville’s small makeover, he said “it gives the school more pizzazz, which it didn’t have much of last year.”. Connor said “add more art to the other hallways because they look even more boring now”.
Mr Kelley, Assistant Principal, spoke highly of the hard work Ms. Jacobs did in “trying to make some updates to a facility that’s over 30 years old.” He was also glad to “see our school colors and logos go up around the school bringing that school pride to life”.
Sadly, the Murphy Building and the 2nd floor of the main building didn’t receive any improvements which left us wondering when those buildings will receive some love.
