Calling all Volunteers! The Leesville PTSA is recognizing students for all their efforts! All sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) and the Leesville Pride Service Awards.
The PVSA is a nationally recognized award whose focus is to acknowledge community involvement and the impact of high school students. The Leesville Pride Service Awards was created by the PTSA with the same intentions as the PVSA, but with local recognition for community service.
Madeline Carpenter, junior and recipient of a presidential bronze award, said, “It’s a great way to get involved in the community and school.”
There are different awards students can apply for based on their age and the amount of completed hours. The levels of recognition are as follows:

William Mabe, junior, applied for the award last year with 100 hours of service– mainly from Wake Up and Read. He said he recommends applying and said, “I love helping out different causes especially Wake Up and Read, I know what they do and I really enjoy helping.”
All service hours must be completed within the dates 9/1/23 and 8/31/24 and be listed with proper description and confirmation to be considered.
Students who wish to apply must turn in all forms to the front office by September 20 at 2:18.
Students will be notified on October 8 if they qualify for the award and a ceremony will be held for students to accept their award. You can find the application form, requirements and more information on the PTSA website.
