On Thursday, January 25 the Men’s 4x800m team consisting of Banks Blizzard, Sam Brown, Ken Ishii, and Andre Michaels qualified for the indoor state championship meet.

The boys have been working hard all season to get as much of the team as possible into the state meet.

Some of the boys team has been out due to sickness and injury, but they scraped up some of the guys and put together a last minute 4x800m qualifying team. On the first attempt, the boys qualified and are now in the state meet.

“I was super happy to see that the team did well. I wasn’t expecting to PR during the race. I ended up doing great. I’m glad I could help my team get to states in the 4x800m and I’m just pumped to see us succeed,” said Sam Brown, junior.

“Our team trained and prepared for this relay race knowing our state championship qualification depended on it, and I think we did a fantastic job rising to the occasion and executing our plan despite some setbacks we faced leading up to the race,” said Ken Ishii, senior.

The boys did an amazing job with putting together a last minute 4x800m team and qualifying in the first try.
