There was an interest meeting last Thursday, September 21, in the media center. Coach Tanferno explained more about the upcoming track season and the requirements for joining the team.

This meeting will include when the season will begin, the tryout process, and the paperwork that is needed to attend tryouts.

Coach Tanferno said, “I want to get a lot of athletes from other sports to come out and try to encourage some more of our volleyball players, baseball players, and transition our cross country into the indoor and the spring season.”

This year the track and field coaches are looking to expand the team. People from all aspects of the school are welcome to come and try out.

Tanferno said, “I want to step up and improve where we go to our meets. Take some trips JDL and liberty get our kids ready.”

Getting this team to the next level and on the right track is the coach’s main goal for this season. Tandeferno said, “We want to increase the number of athletes we get qualified for states. We want to get all of our sprinters, jumpers, and hurdlers to state.”

Many students attended the interest meeting. Returning athletes and new athletes interested in track and field learned more about the program and how Coach Tanferno will be running things this season.
