Ken Block’s Death

Professional rally car driver and founder of DC shoes and Hoonigan industries, Ken Block, died in a snowmobile accident on January 2, 2023. 

Block was an action sports legend participating in motocross, skateboarding, and snowboarding. 

Block was most famous for being a five-time X Game medalist in RallyCross and for his Gymkhana series where he generated over 550 million views. 

He was on a snowmobiling trip with his friends in Utah near his home when the snowmobile got overturned and landed on top of him. 

Utah’s Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office wrote, “We are saddened to hear of the loss of Kenneth and our hearts are with his family and friends so deeply affected. We thank all of our first responders for their continued service.”

Block’s 16 year-old daughter, Lia Block, posted on Instagram regarding her father’s death. 

“Yesterday, I didn’t just lose my father. I lost my best friend… No words can describe of how much of an amazing human my dad was, he lived so many lives, accomplished more in 55 years than most people could in 10 lifetimes and lived his life to the absolute fullest every single day,” said Lia Block.

Block was an action junkie and a hero to many. Block’s daring stunts and kindhearted personality will be missed by action sports enthusiasts everywhere.
