Christmas Traditions

One popular tradition is decorating a Christmas tree. People decorate in a variety of ways, from stringing lights to hanging ornaments. Some families even have a specific order that they use when decorating their tree. For others, it’s a more spontaneous process. No matter how it is done, decorating the tree is a fun activity that everyone can enjoy.

“Each year me and my family create our own ornaments to hang on our christmas tree, It is our Christmas tradition,” Ben Holland, senior.

Another popular tradition is baking cookies. Baking cookies is a great way to get everyone together in the kitchen and create some delicious treats. Gingerbread men and sugar cookies are popular choices, but there are many other options to choose from as well.

“My grandmother bakes hundreds of cookies each Christmas season,” Ava Finn, sophomore.

On Christmas morning, exchanging gifts is a favorite tradition. Some families use a traditional gift exchange with a name drawing, while others prefer to simply have everyone exchange gifts freely. Either way, it’s always fun to watch the excitement and anticipation as presents are opened.

No matter what traditions you choose to celebrate, Christmas is a special time of year that is filled with joy and happiness. Whether you’re decorating a tree, baking cookies, or exchanging gifts, these traditions are an important part of the holiday season and help make it the most wonderful time of the year.
