Spirit Week is the only time of the year where students can dress up and show their school spirit. This year’s spirit week will begin September 26th and it’s themed “Lights, Camera, Homecoming!”
Given that Monday is a workday, no spirit day will take place; however, students are welcome to dress up in character on any other day of the week.
Tuesday: Dress for the Movies
This week’s opening theme is “Dress for the Movies.” Students can wear the coziest outfits they own on this one day of the school year. Obviously, the ideal way to participate on this day is to show up in comfortable clothes. However, if students dare to turn this day around, they can always dress up and arrive in their finest attire as if they were on the Red Carpet. In either case, dress to impress!
Wednesday: Pink Out
For the second day of Spirit Week, students should come dressed in their best pink attire! September is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the school will show their support by joining with the iconic saying, “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink.”
Thursday: Character/Celebrity Day
Students should be ready to showcase their best celebrity or character attire on Thursday. This is an occasion to dress up like a character from a movie or television show, or if desired, a famous Hollywood celebrity.
Friday: “We are the Pride!”
Friday is the day of our pep rally assembly and parade, so everyone should be in a festive mood. Everyone should wear green, the school’s official color, and by “wear,” I mean that each grade should be entirely covered in it!
Friday’s Festivities
As previously stated, Friday morning will see both the pep rally and parade. First, there will be a parade with participation from students in all grade levels. LRHS clubs will show off their floats for the parade, and the band will march as well. The pep rally will take place at the Football Stadium after the parade, which will showcase school enthusiasm. The football game is one of the most significant events of Homecoming Week, the team will meet Broughton High School. Leesville, be ready—you’ll need your spirit!
