The 77th Annual Raleigh Christmas Parade is on Saturday, November 20, 2021. It will take place in downtown Raleigh.

This year, Shop Local Raleigh — an organization all about “promoting & supporting locally-owned, independent businesses” — presents the Raleigh Christmas Parade.

115 groups, including marching bands, businesses, dance groups, floats, Santa Claus, and more, will complete the 1.5-mile parade route. The parade route starts on Hillsborough Street, makes its way around the corner of the State Capitol, and continues on Fayetteville Street.

The parade starts around 9:30 am and will end by noon. The media sponsor for the parade is ABC11. They will begin reporting at 9:30 am, and the broadcast of the event will start at 10 am. Reporters will be in the studio and along the streets.

All of the city parking decks will be free of charge the morning of the parade. If you plan on attending, make sure to get there with plenty of time to spare because the Raleigh streets will fill up fast. The Raleigh Christmas Parade is the largest parade of its kind between Washington D.C. and Atlanta — there will be an estimated 65,000 people attending and 250,000 watching from home.

The Leesville Road High School Symphonic Band will be among those marching the parade route. This is an annual event for the Leesville marching band, and they will play their Christmas set “Hark Jingle Jolly Joy,” along with drumline cadences.

If you want to celebrate the holiday season and support the Pride Band, travel to downtown Raleigh this weekend for the Raleigh Christmas Parade!
