College Visits… Where do you want to attend?

Leesville began hosting college visits and information sessions for students last week and will continue to host more.

To sign up, all you have to do is go to this SignUpGenius, select the college you want, and input your information.

Right now, these are the information sessions available:

  • University of Alabama
  • Davidson College
  • UNC Charlotte
  • Appalachian State
  • UNC Greensboro
  • University of Florida
  • East Carolina University
  • Campbell University
  • Wake Technical Community College
  • University of Maryland
  • Queens College
  • UNC Asheville
  • UNC Wilmington
  • Xavier College

So far, the counseling staff has planned these visits until early November, but as they find more universities, they will update the list to include them and additional dates.

Most of the college visits are in room 03(near Student Services) during second and fourth periods. However, there are a few during first and third, as well as after-school.

The after-school visits (the University of Maryland and the University of Florida) will be via Zoom. More information about how these meetings will work can be found on the SignUpGenius

For in-school visits, your sign-up confirmation email will work as a pass to get you out of class for the information session.

Each meeting takes 30 to 45 minutes, except for the University of Maryland, which will be an hour. During this time, the college representatives present an overview of the schools (academics, admissions, etc.) and answer questions from the students.

These sessions are a great way for you to learn more about colleges. Whether you go to one you are already interested in or attend a meeting about a college you have never heard of, you will walk away knowing more.

This knowledge can help you determine if a college is the right fit for you and if it is worth applying to.

Even if it does not, it is less than an hour of your time, so it does not cost you anything to attend.

These information sessions are a great way to learn more, but slots in the meetings are going fast, so sign up soon!
