Sunday, November 3, 2019 marks the return of the Popeyes chicken biscuit.

When the first Popeyes chicken sandwich came out it broke the internet with its amazing reviews. Within two weeks the famous chicken sandwich sold out. It took about three months for the sandwich to come back around.

The reviews aren’t as good as they were the first time. People have said that the chicken sandwich is smaller than it was the first time, there is less mayo on it, the bun is smaller, and it doesn’t hold its shape as well. According to social media, the size varies from location to location. The lines still have up to an hour wait and people have become more and more frustrated with Popeyes. If Popeyes could find a way to control how long the lines are they could profit more from these chicken sandwiches: they could create an app to have in store pickup, or they could work with apps that deliver such as DoorDash, Postmates, GrubHub, or Uber Eats.

The chicken sandwich has provided both fulfillment and agony to its customers at the same time. Especially for the family of Kevin Tyrell Davis who was stabbed to death in front of a Popeyes in Maryland on November 5, 2019. Davis arrived at the location and began to occasionally skip the line until he got to the front. Once he was at the counter, a man confronted him, they ended up outside in front of the restaurant and within 15 seconds he had been stabbed. An hour later at the hospita,l Davis was pronounced dead.

Then, a lady in Los Angeles slammed her car into concrete bollards while trying to cut the line at Popeyes. In a video someone said to her, “Is it that worth it?” and she replied, “Yes.” She smiled and took a bite of her chicken sandwich.

These chicken sandwiches are a sensation, and they have caused people to act crazy. The next time you think about going to get a chicken biscuit, make sure you think and stay safe.
