With each new school year comes new staff and new students. This year Leesville Road High School has the privilege to know assistant principal, Mr. Stewart. He assists students with last name A-C. With his warm, welcoming presence, there should be no problem getting to know him.

Originally from South Carolina, Mr. Stewart has been working in the school system for thirteen years. Stewart attended Gardner Webb University, located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. Previously working at Harnett County High School and Cleveland High School, what allows Leesville to make the next High School cut?

Stewart vocalized in a recent interview Leesville is “worth being a part of.” Through word of mouth he heard the high school is a “good school academically, athletically, and has a good culture.” So when given the opportunity to apply, Stewart did and landed the position.

Impact is one of the greatest aspects of life teachers can exchange on today’s generation of students. When asked the question; “What impact do you want to have on today’s students?”, Stewart’s response was to, “ Help students in their academic, athletic, and overall endeavors.” He also is here for support so that all students can be successful.

Outside of school and work life, Mr.Stewart likes to watch his three kids engage in activities such as dance and soccer. He also plays golf in his leisure time. When asked his favorite food, he specifically stated “my wife’s chocolate chip cookies.”

Due to his son’s involvement, Mr.Stewart is now a fan of soccer and also loves football. With the NFL and college seasons approaching he voiced his two favorite teams: the Dallas Cowboys, and the Clemson Tigers.

In a school as large as Leesville Road High School, students can often be fearful of approaching staff and students. In order to make students more comfortable, Mr. Stewart wants students to know that he is approachable. He wants students at Leesville to know that they can come and talk to him anytime. If there is any information you need to help you succeed, he is willing to share it.

Thanks to Mr. Stewart’s genuine persona, this year will be great and successful!
