The current courtyard, seen here in a stock photo from December, lacks the amenities needed to seat all who want to sit there. The gift of the senior class hopes to change that.

Class Song: “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons

The song “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons tells the story of someone who is leaving their hometown and moving on to bigger and better things while staying true to who they are. As the senior class song, “It’s Time” reminds everyone to do exactly that as they begin their new life after high school. Lyrics such as “I’m just the same as I was / Don’t you understand / That I’m never changing who I am” are repeated multiple times throughout the song in order to emphasize its importance. As the graduating class travels to exciting new places, staying true to who they are is the key to living a happy and successful life.

Class Motto: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style.” Maya Angelou

This quote by Maya Angelou is a perfect fit for the graduating class. Everyone in the class has their own unique style that becomes evident in everything they do. Therefore, thriving instead of simply surviving is something of which everyone is fully capable. Every student has something about which they are passionate as well. This quote reminds the graduating class to always follow their passions and to add some individuality to everything they do.

Class gift: benches for the court yard

The senior class gift is a special tradition that allows the graduating class to leave their mark on the school, literally. This year, the senior class gift is a new set of benches in the courtyard marked with a path of paw prints. By adding benches in the courtyard, the class of 2015 will be able to leave their mark by leaving a gift students will be able to benefit. This gift will be utilized every day for years to come as students meet their friends in morning, enjoy lunch, and hang out after school.
