Tech and theater students waited for their turn to bowl at tech theater bowling night. “I just had fun being with other techies,” said Anna Phillips, tech student and sophomore at LRHS.

The Leesville Road High School Pride Productions Booster Club is back! On Thursday, September 5, they began fundraising by hosting their first bowling night of the year.

The tech theater bowling night, entitled, “Let’s Get the Ball Rolling,” was held at AMF Pleasant Valley Lanes. The admission fee to get into bowling night was $10, which paid for two hours of bowling, a small drink and a small popcorn. Half of the admission fee will go towards new supplies for tech theater. This includes materials like new paint and wood to build the set for the fall play, The Great Gatsby.

From 5-7 p.m., tech and theater students bowled together to help support Pride Productions. Many students who attended the event also gained new relationships and memories.

“The thing that made tech night fun for me was being able to spend time with my friends and meeting new people,” said Anna Phillips, a sophomore and tech theater student at LRHS. “We were pretty much able to be ourselves.”

As far as future bowling nights go, Phillips believes that it’s important that more people help support Leesville’s theater arts.

“It’s a really good thing to help contribute to your school and help out with the theater program. It’s just another way to show school spirit, like going to sports events. If we get more students to show up [at future tech nights], we can also get to know each other better. It would make it easier to interact with classmates,” said Phillips.

Pride Productions will host more fundraisers and opportunities to help support the drama department the as they continue into the new school year.
