New guidance counselor takes unconventional path to Leesville

Mr. Eaton has previous experience as a guidance counselor in elementary school, and his wife is a guidance counselor as well.

Leesville’s new guidance counselor’s path here has been anything but conventional.

Frank Eaton, guidance counselor, has taken over providing guidance and help to all Leesville students whose last names fall between “Hi-Me.”

Eaton has an interesting background and his path to Leesville can be described best as abstract.

“I was a financial analyst for about 10-15 years, so I did some corporate work before getting into the school system,” said Eaton.

Eaton, who attended NC Central for his masters in school counseling, worked at East Millbrook before coming to Leesville.

Eaton, when asked about his abnormal path to counseling, said, “I wanted to teach English, but I started working for a technology company.”

“I changed my major to business and went into finance out there,” said Eaton.

When asked about his goals, Eaton said, “I think for me, it’s just be a mentor, and be a resource for all the students.”

Asked if had anything else he wanted to say, Eaton said, “I’m looking forward to having a great year; I hope the students are ready also to have a great year.”
Eaton really wanted to emphasize that he is here to help.

“If I can be of help to anybody stop by and see me,” said Eaton.
