Another season, another disappointing start for NC State football. NC State lost 21-35 to the Tennessee Volunteers. The game was played in Atlanta on Friday, Aug 31.

The score was a bad reflection of how the game actually went. The Volunteers dominated the entire game; at one point even scoring 16 points in 38 seconds.

Mike Glennon, the NC State quarterback, had a horrible game. He finished the game with just one touchdown and four interceptions.

NC State cornerback David Amerson, preseason All-American, is coming off a record breaking season. Amerson gave up two long touchdowns early and never seemed to mentally recover.

Tom O’Brien, the Wolfpack’s head coach, was not ready to put the loss on his two captains. “Its a football team, it’s not just two guys,” he said in a postgame interview with TheWolfpacker.com

NC State was #1 in the nation last year in interceptions. They could notforce Tyler Bray, Tennessee quarterback, to throw one. The Tennessee Volunteers did a stellar job of making sure NC State did not do what they do best: Pass the football on offense, and cause turnovers on defense.

NC State’s lackluster performance disappointed avid Wolfpack fan, Kyle Smith. “I was kind of bummed,” he said. “Your hopes are up high and then it all comes crashing down.”
