Another year of school means another summer and a summer of sun, fun and hard-working camps. The Pride Athletic Club, or PAC, is continuing the popular summer athletic camps.

The athletic camps have been around for some time.  Whether it is baseball, volleyball or just plain track and field, the PAC will host a camp for each sport this summer.

The PAC recently introduced a lacrosse camp and a speed & agility camp. There are a total of 12 camps offered by the PAC.

Costs for each camp range from $40 to $175 depending on the sport. All camps are hosted by the head coach from each team. Athletes from ages 6 to 15 are welcome to join the clubs.

“Most of the kids who attend are in middle school, however there are some younger ones among them,” said Jeremy Fullbright, coach.

To keep the kids under control and focused, LRHS students and athletes are needed to help. Volunteer athletes will have duties including teaching, fetching water and having fun with the campers.

“I volunteered for the Track & Field camp this summer because I really want to learn the sport through teaching,” said Ben Tyner, junior.

The camps start on June 11 and will last until August 3. The camps tend to last 4 or 5 days without overnight stay. Each day consists of 4 hour sessions.
