On Tuesday, October 25, the Leesville Road ice hockey club will face off against the Millbrook Wildcats in their second game at the Polar Ice House in Wake Forest. Officials will drop the puck at 6:10.

Coming off of a 5-1 win over Apex last weekend, Leesville is looking to expand their win streak to two-in-a-row for the season. Michael Meli, senior and rookie, expressed his thoughts on the first game.

“I remember that our passing was spot-on that game,” said Meli. “Puck flow between teammates was smooth and effective against Apex.”

Meli, as a starting forward, capitalized on several chances leaving him with a team-high of two goals. Martin York, team captain and senior, commented on the surprising start of his team.

“Last year’s championship team was completely different from our team this year,” said York. “We lost many talented players to graduation and had to bring in a lot of newbies like Michael into the roster.”

The Wildcats are coming off a 6-0 win over a talented Green Hope club. The winner of this game will not only determine the current league leader, it will set the tone for the rest of the season.
