Christine McGrath joined the front office staff at the beginning of the 2010-11 school year as the official front desk lady.
“Mostly I just answer phones, help return forgotten lunches and help sick kids,” elaborated McGrath.
The most noticeable aspect of her is her constant smile. In fact, upon informing her of this article, she beamed.
“Yay! I love attention!” she exclaimed.
This love for attention began at an early age.
“Ever since I was little, I loved people. I would always invite the neighbors over, and I had lots of friends,” described McGrath.
She grew up in upstate New York in a town called Canajorharie.
“That town was about the size of this school,” she explained.
She, along with her two sisters and one brother, graduated from high school there.
McGrath lived in California for 15 years then moved to Raleigh. She worked at the main office of Wake County, and before that, as a preschool teacher in Cary.
“I just love kids!” she gushed.
McGrath loves her new job because she “loves chaos and people, has lots of energy and loves to organize.”
As for impressions of Leesville, McGrath only had kind words.
“I love everybody here. The students are wonderful, and everyone is nice. Even the mean people are nice!”
