On Wednesday, September 7, Leesville Road High School’s Women’s varsity volleyball team played Heritage in a tough matchup at home. Fans came and cheered on the Lady Pride in their camo to match this week’s theme.
“It was a tough game. It was back and forth and we ended in the fifth set and lost by two,” said Olivia Scott, a sophomore.
The team’s friendship and chemistry helps them work together and play so well against even the toughest opponents such as Heritage.
The team worked together and fought hard against Heritage, but one player in particular, Laney Choboy, a senior, really stood out.
“She had a lot of really great kills and saves,” said Scott.
Another great player, Elise Batz, a senior, stood out as well. She played her first game back after taking time off to recover from an injury to her ankle.
“She played really well after she was out from rolling her ankle,” said Scott.
As the regular season continues and with the conference season quickly approaching, the Lady Pride hopes to work hard and work together with their coach to finish off strong with some more wins!
Next game is home vs Athens Drive on Thursday, September 15.
